The end

The end

There are things we never want to let go of, people we never want to leave behind.  But keep in mind that letting go isn’t the end of the world; it’s the beginning of a new life.

~ Unattributed

So.  This is it.  My last post here at Life in the Bogs.  From here on out, you will find me at Breezes at Dawn, my new blog home.  Please join me there so we can continue our adventures together.

I know you’ve seen these photos from Pike’s Peak (Colorado) in the past.  A few times, probably.  They are two of my favorite images.  To me, the images evoke a sense of ending and beginning (because all endings are a beginning of some kind).

Some of you are wondering why I’m making the move.  One reason is because I am running out of media space here at Life in the Bogs.  I could pay for more or use an outside source and link the images in.  I prefer not to use an outside source (such as Flickr) because long ago, I used to do that (especially when traveling) and then gave up my subscription to that outside source (Photobucket) and lost the images.  Not permanently.  I still have the images in my archives (on my computer), but they are no longer available from Photobucket and that means the photos don’t show up on those posts where I linked to a URL.

But there is another reason.  I have never been happy with the fact that my blog name and URL don’t match.  I know.  It’s silly.  Who says they have to match?  Nobody.  I think, though, that it’s easier for people to find the blog when the two match.  At least I have found that to be true when it comes to friends and family who either don’t blog or don’t spend much time online.  (Yes, Dad, I’m talking to you.)

Both problems will be solved with one move.

Another “on this day last year” image.

The number one reason for the switch is because I feel I have changed, and it’s time to reflect that change by a move to a new place.  I suppose it would have been easier if I’d written that in the first place because it is the core of the move from which the surface reasons evolved.

Well, I reckon that’s it from the Bogs.  Thank you all so much for your visits, your likes, and your comments.  See you over at the new place!  I think you’ll like it.  :)

…To let go is to cherish the memories, but to overcome and move on.  It is having an open mind and confidence in the future.  Letting go is learning and experiencing and growing.  To let go is to be thankful for the experiences that made you laugh, made you cry, and made you grow.  It’s about all that you have, all that you had, and all that you will soon gain.  Letting go is having the courage to accept change, and the strength to keep moving.  Letting go is growing up.  It is realizing that the heart can sometimes be the most potent remedy.  To let go is to open a door, and to clear a path and set yourself free.

(Boy, that Unattributed person sure is wise.)
